The event was held on February 4, 2011, during the RE\/MAX of Western Canada 28th Annual Conference in Vancouver, BC.<br \/>\n\u201cAt a gathering that is geared to celebrate our agents\u2019 achievements over the past year, it\u2019s incredible to witness our broker owners and agents join to contribute their personal time and money for the betterment of sick children and their local communities,\u201d said Marie Sheppy, Senior Coordinator, Corporate Affairs at RE\/MAX of Western Canada. Stories of children recovering and receiving successful treatment were shared with RE\/MAX associates in attendance at the luncheon fundraiser. \u201cThis is an extraordinary group of people who recognize that it\u2019s more than just a donation to an outstanding cause; it\u2019s an investment in the future of our children.\u201d<!--more--><br \/>\nRE\/MAX associates and business partners participated in a host of fundraising events such as the hockey tournament, live and silent auctions including Tiffany &amp; Company jewelry, a custom stained glass masterpiece, sports memorabilia and vacation packages to name a few. In addition to the annual fundraiser, participating RE\/MAX sales associates contribute a portion of their income throughout the year via the RE\/MAX Miracle Home\u00ae Program, and host local fundraisers such as golf tournaments, head shaves and bowl-a-thons. These combined efforts have enabled RE\/MAX affiliates to donate over $3.7 million for Children\u2019s Miracle Network 14 member hospitals across Canada in 2010, with Western Canadian affiliates leading the way by contributing $1.37 million to this total. Since 1992 Canada has given $39 million dollars to the RE\/MAX International total of over $107 Million Dollars donated to Children\u2019s Miracle Network member hospitals.<br \/>\nChildren\u2019s Miracle Network is an international non-profit organization dedicated to raising funds and awareness programs for the benefit of children served by its associated hospitals, health centres, and foundation.<\/p>\n<p>RE\/MAX is Canada\u2019s leading real estate organization with over 18,500 Sales Associates in 700 independently-owned and operated offices.
